Abstract
A solvent's molar volume is the factor that determines its ability to penet rate into a polymer structure. However, the available data for polyethylene swelling in organic solvents may be quantitatively linked with their physi cochemical properties only by use of polyparameter equations, which take in to account not only the molar volume of solvents but also their ability for specific and nonspecific solvation.
