Abstract
Simultaneous demultiplexing and regeneration of 40-Gb/s optical time divisi on multiplexed (OTDM) signal based on self-phase and cross-phase modulation in a dispersion shifted Fiber is numerically and experimentally investigat ed, The optimal walkoff time between the control pulse and OTDM signal is o btained by numerical simulation. Our experiment also shows that it is an ef fective method for realizing simultaneous demultiplexing and regeneration w hen used in the middle of a system or in the receiver with a proper walkoff time.
