Abstract
Light scattering cross-sections by the director inhomogeneity near small cy lindrical particles in a nematic cell are calculated in the Rayleigh-Gans a pproximation. We use the Percus-Yevick approximation to account for interfe rence effects and study the influence of the boundary conditions on the par ticle surface as well as the effect of an external electric field on the an gular dependence and on the magnitude of the light scattering cross-section .
