Different nickel hydroxides were prepared by directly neutralizing nickel i
ons under various conditions including the choice of nickel salts and the u
se of surfactant. The influence of particle size the distribution and the c
rystallinity of nickel hydroxide powder on the electrochemical activity of
nickel electrode were studied. The results show that nickel hydroxide with
higher degree of crystallization may actually possess greater discharge cap
acity and better redox reversibility if the hydroxide is prepared under a l
onger reaction time.
