Abstract
Macracanthorhynchus ingens is typically a parasite of raccoons, wolves, bad gers, foxes, skunks, and mink but is uncommon in dogs. Transmission to dogs from wildlife may occur via ingestion of an infected m illipede intermediate host. Diagnosis may be made by examination of the parasite's unique morphologic f eatures and spindle shaped eggs.
