Binuclear complexes of VO(IV), Cr(II), Co(II), end Cu(II) with the title li
gand were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and infrared
spectra. The metal ions occupy the ONONO coordination sites of the ligand w
hile acetates and two H2O molecules associated with each complex to satisfy
the coordination requirements of the metal ions. The binuclear complexes h
ave comparatively higher antibacterial activity as compared to their mononu
clear analogs.
