Abstract
The reaction of epichlorohydrin with RNA in aqueous medium at ambient tempe rature gave live new adducts which were characterized is N-6-(3-chloro-2-hy droxypopyl)-adenine. 1, N-1-O-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-adenine, 2, N-3-(3 -chtoro-2-hydroxypropyl)-uridine, 3, 5 ' -GMP-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-es ter 4, N-3-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-5 ' -CMP. 5, and N-2-(3-chlorohydroxy propyl)-5 ' -GMP. 6. The products have been characterized by spectroscopy, paper electrophoresis and FAB-Mass spectrometry including peak matching ana lysis.
