D. Colombini et al., Actual viscoelastic characterization of the interphase in a compatibilizedthermoset/thermoplastic blend through reverse mechanical modeling, MACRO SYMP, 169, 2001, pp. 237-242
The viscoelastic properties of an in-situ compatibilized thermoset/thermopl
astic blend were investigated. A reverse mechanical modeling was used to pr
edict(l) the actual viscoelastic characteristics of the in-situ synthesized
interphase in the blend and (2) the evolution of these actual characterist
ics as a function of the thermal history of the polymer blend. Thus, predic
ted data revealed a significant increase of the ability of the molecular mo
bility in the interphase area after a refreshing thermal treatment be appli
ed to the blend. Lastly, the frequency dependence of the predicted relaxati
on of the interphase component was also studied.
