N. Stolterfoht et al., Evidence for interference effects in electron emission from H-2 colliding with 60 MeV/u Kr34+ ions - art. no. 023201, PHYS REV L, 8702(2), 2001, pp. 3201-NIL_44
Cross sections for electron emission in the energy range from 2-300 eV were
measured for 60 MeV/u Kr34+ ions impacting on H-2. Model calculations are
introduced to guide the search for interference effects in the electron spe
ctra produced by the coherent emission of electrons from the two H atoms in
analogy with Young's two-slit experiment. Experimentally, a full sinusoida
l-like oscillation was observed in the energy range up to 250 eV in good ag
reement with the calculations. The oscillatory structure is found to be sim
ilar for the observation angles 20 degrees, 30 degrees, 150 degrees, and 16
0 degrees.
