Abstract
The Kravchuk and Meixner polynomials of discrete variable are introduced fo r the discrete models of the harmonic oscillator and hydrogen atom. Startin g from Rodrigues formula we construct raising and lowering operators, commu tation and anticommutation relations. The physical properties of discrete m odels are figured out through the equivalence with the continuous models ob tained by limit process. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved .
