Abstract
The action of the electric microfield in plasmas on the ionization processe s is considered. It is shown that the processes of tunnel and rescattering ionization by a laser field are strongly controlled by the electric microfi eld of plasmas. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
