The crystal structure and magnetic properties of polycrystalline Gd1-xCexMn
2Ge2 (x = 0.0 - 1.0) compounds with the ThCr2Si2-type structure have been i
nvestigated and the magnetic phase diagram has been constructed. The ferrom
agnetism observed in CeMn2Ge2 transforms to ferrimagnetism with the substit
ution of Gd for Ce. An additional high temperature ferromagnetic phase in G
dMn2Ge2 weakens and eventually disappears with the addition of Ce. The satu
ration magnetization with increasing x at 4.2 K decreases up to the x = 0.5
