Abstract
Deprotonation of ketimines with lithium diisopropyl amide, followed by reac tion with aldehydes and subsequent reduction with aluminium hydrides gave g amma -amino alcohols with moderate to good syn selectivity. The scope and l imitations of this preparative method are reported.
