Abstract
The (-)-allosamizoline aminocyclopentitol was prepared by use of a route fe aturing pyridinium salt photochemical synthesis of the aminocyclopentene co re, enzymatic desymmetrization, Wittig rearrangement to introduce the hydro xymethyl side chain, and regiocontrolled exporide ring opening.
