G. Soygut et H. Turkcapar, Assessment of interpersonal schema patterns in antisocial personality disorder: A cognitive interpersonal perspective, TURK PSIKOL, 16(47), 2001, pp. 55-69
There is a growing interest in cognitive behavioral approach to the assessm
ent and treatment of personality disorders. Accordingly, we examined interp
ersonal schema (as measured by the Interpersonal Schema Questionnaire) diff
erences between individuals with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) (N
= 54) and normal participants (N = 35). Findings revealed that, compared to
normal participants, individuals with ASPD, expected less complementary re
sponses from significant others in friendly, dominant, and submissive situa
tions. However, they expected more complementary responses from significant
others in hostile situations. They also rated their expected responses fro
m others as more undesirable.
