Abstract
A simple method for obtaining the SERS spectra of water-insoluble organic c ompounds was reported. Taking advantage of the solubility of organic solven ts with water in Ag sol each other, this method can be widely used to obtai n the SERS spectra of water-insoluble organic compounds. It is essentially suitable for the characterization and trace detection or trace organic anal ysis of the minimum samples when the centrifugated Ag sol was used as subst rate. Since more than one organic solvent can be used this way, this method can also be used to study the effects of organic solvents on the SERS spec tra of samples and further to study the adsorption behavior of solute molec ules in different solvents.
