Abstract
Rhodococci were shown to be constantly present in the saprotrophic bac terial complexes of urban soils. Their absolute and relative abundance was higher in soil samples from the territories of an oil refinery an d the Kondensator plant, which was evidently due their ability to meta bolize oil hydrocarbons and chlorinated phenols and resistance to adve rse environmental factors.
