Phase split data have been obtained for a horizontal stratified flow approa
ching an equal diameter (0.127 m diameter) junction. In addition, the shape
and position of the interface of the flow approaching the junction have be
en measured. The information has been combined to effect improvements to mo
dels to predict the phase split. The improved model gives good predictions
for larger and smaller diameter T-junctions. Further improvements, particul
arly to remove empiricism, are required.
