Abstract
A novel molecular crystal formed between enantiopure 1,1 ' -bi-2-naphthol a nd acetylferrocene has been prepared and characterized in this communicatio n. The examination on its reduction with sodium borohydride showed that the asymmetric induction was observed in the solid state but not in the soluti on phase. The asymmetric induction in the solid-state reduction may be attr ibuted to the chiral microenvironment of molecular crystal.
