Optimal location of FACTS devices for congestion management

This paper presents a simple and efficient model for optimizing the locatio n of FACTS devices used for congestion management by controlling the device parameters. Congestion management using FACTS devices requires a two-step approach. First, the optimal location of the devices in the network must be ascertained and then, the settings of the control parameters optimized.
