PVA dense membranes treated by acrylic acid plasma were prepared and tested
in the case of water/ethanol mixtures using pervaporation and differential
permeation. The treatment strongly modified the performances of the untrea
ted membrane. The hydrophilic deposited layer by plasma polymerization of a
crylic acid onto the surface led to an increase of the flux and the water s
electivity. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd, All rights reserved.
