Abstract
The chemical composition of the volatile metabolites from needles of Pinus attenuata Lemmon, P. heldreichii Christ, P. peuce Griseb., P. pinaster Ait. and P. radiata D. Don, growing in natural habitats of Greece, was analysed . By means of GC-MS and comparison with authentic reference standards and K ovats indices, 43 compounds were identified. The chemical variability of th e terpenoid constituents is discussed. Copyright (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons , Ltd.
