Abstract
An equation for the probability of the number of nuclei of a definite size in a vapor-gas system was derived within the framework of the bas ic notions of the classical theory of nucleation. It was established t hat the Poisson distribution is the equilibrium and stationary solutio n of this equation. The relaxation properties of the equation were stu died.
