The properties of materials derived from diphenolic acid (4-(bis(hydroxyphe
nyl))pentanoic acid, DPA), such as polycarbonate homo- and co-polymers (wit
h bisphenol A, BPA), have been determined. The influence of copolymer compo
sition on the thermal properties of these materials has been determined. Bl
ends of polycarbonates from BPA and from DPA appear to be compatible.
