C. Raduge et al., SURFACE VIBRATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY OF SULFURIC ACID-WATER MIXTURES AT THE LIQUID-VAPOR INTERFACE, Chemical physics letters, 274(1-3), 1997, pp. 140-144
Infrared-visible sum-frequency generation has been used to obtain vibr
ational spectra of sulfuric acid-water mixtures at the liquid-vapor in
terface in the OH stretch region. The spectral peaks gradually disappe
ar with increase of sulfuric acid concentration. the dangling OH mode
first, followed by the bonded OM modes. Thp results can be understood
if the Liquid surfaces are assumed to possess a more or less ordered h
ydrogen-bonding network, (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
