Abstract
In this letter, we numerically compared symmetric and asymmetric dispersion slope compensation schemes in a long-haul, chirped-return-to-zero, wavelen gth-division-multiplexed system, Symmetric compensation has significant adv antages over asymmetric compensation. We elucidate the physical reasons and the system implications.
