Abstract
Using cross-phase modulation in a l-km high-nonlinearity dispersion-shifted fiber with subsequently filtering by a tunable optical filter, 80-Gb/s pul sewidth maintained wavelength conversion is realized. Penalty-free transmis sion over 80-km conventional single-mode fiber and 12-km dispersion-compens ating fiber for 80-Gb/s converted signal is realized.
