Increased demands for accountability information have resulted in many care
er counseling practitioners and researchers seeking sound methods for measu
ring the effectiveness of career counseling and interventions. This article
proposes a conceptual framework designed to assist individuals in systemat
ically selecting multiple career outcome measures. This classification sche
me is based on psychotherapy outcome schemes and career counseling research
. In addition to presenting the organizational scheme for selecting career
outcome assessments, the author provides an example of using the scheme to
select instruments to evaluate a career counseling group offered in a unive
rsity counseling center.
