The paper presents the experimental data concerning the chromatic analysis used in the study of the compatibility between the old traditional techniqu es and the new materials and methods of intervention in the active conserva tion and restoration. The technique is making use of the spectral analysis coupled with the digital scanning, on the base of them the three matrix of transforming the X,Y,Z and respectively R,G,B tristimulus systems being obt ained, With their help the chromatic deviations due to the incompatibilily of the polychrome system in the reintegration process can be evaluated.
