Abstract
Polymer-grafted quaternary phosphonium salts were prepared by polymer-analo gous direct quaternization of chloromethylated styrene-7% (and 5%) divinylb enzene copolymers. The now phosphonium salts (methyldiphenyl phosphonium sa lts-, dimethylphenyl phosphonim salts-, ethyldiphenyl phosphonium salts-, d iethylphenyl phosphonium salts-) grafted on styrene-divinylbenzene copolyme rs were obtained. A simple procedure for the calculation of the functionali zation degree and the statistical modelling of the structural repetitive un it of the copolymer are reported.
