The excessive heating of the LPG cylinders results in extremely high inside
pressures, exercising a stress upon them, capable to cause leaks and thus
reducing the resistance wall thickness. In case of the B.100 cylinder desig
n* (that is the classical design in Romania for the household GPL consumpti
on), the vulnerable area is at the convex bottom joining the cylindrical sh
ell, since from the technological curving of this area result thinner parts
than in the rest of the receiver and also because of the cylinder geometri
cal form which, fortuitously create unfavourable influences of the mechanic
al stress concentrators sin the same areas.
