V. Tudor et al., Synthesis and characterization of two binuclear complexes of Co-II and Ni-II with hydrazine and triethanolamine, REV RO CHIM, 46(1), 2001, pp. 35-40
A synthesis strategy is proposed for complex compounds with controlled nucl
earity using two type of ligands, assembling ones, like hydrazine capable t
o link the metals ions in polynuclear species, and blocking ones, as aminoa
lcohols forming chelating monomers. The synthesis of the compounds [M-II(H(
2)TEA)(mu (2)-N2H4)](2).2(X-) where H(3)TEA = Triethanolamine, M-II: = Co-I
I or Ni-II, X- = NO3- or ClO4- and characterization by elemental analysis,
spectroscopic, magnetic, and conductimetric measurements are presented. The
spectral properties show that H(3)TEA acts as a chelating ligand and N2H4
as a bridging one. The ligand field parameters and the magnetic moment valu
es suggest an octahedral environment for the metal ions.
