Abstract
Using an original method, eleven new 4-(phenylazo)phenoxy acetic acids were prepared by condensation of chloracetic acid with sodium salts of some 4-( phenylazo) phenols. These compounds, potentially physiologically active, we re characterized by physical methods as UV-VIS and IR spectral analysis and the results were compared with those presented in the literature for simil ar azoderivatives.
