Abstract
Mixed iron cesium hydrogen phosphate CsFe2(HPO4)(2)(PO4)(H2O) was synthesiz ed under hydrothermal conditions from a mixture of Fe2O3, Cs2CO3, and H3PO4 (at 290 degreesC for 1 h, followed by rapid cooling to 25 degreesC), and i ts crystal structure was determined (a = 5.021(3) Angstrom, b = 15.80(1) An gstrom, c = 13.646(8) Angstrom, beta = 94.49(4)degrees, space group P2(l)/n , Z = 4). The structure is formed by orthophosphate tetrahedra and FeO6 oct ahedra. Water molecules are coordinated to the iron atom.
