Single crystals of Cs-2[UO2(Seo(4))(2) (.) H2O] (.) H2O (I), synthesized by
the isothermal solubility method at 25 degreesC, were studied by X-ray cry
stallography. Crystals are orthorhombic, a = 14.367 Angstrom, b = 11.682 An
gstrom, c = 7.826 Angstrom, Z = 4, space group Pna2(1). Compound I is a rep
resentative of crystal-chemical group A (B2M1)-M-2 (A UO22+) of uranyl comp
lexes and is characterized by a layered structure of uranium-containing gro
ups [UO2(SeO4)(2) (.) H2O](2-); cesium ions and water molecules are located
between the layers.
