Voltammetry with a stationary platinum electrode in acetonitrile was employ
ed to study redox processes occurring in the systems of iron(III) chloride
hexahydrate and copper(II) chloride dihydrate with N,N'-diethylhydroxylamin
e (DEHA) and 2,3-toluyienediisocyanate (2,4-TDI). The FeCl3. 6H(2)O-DEHA sy
stem forms iron(II,III) complexes with nitron. The CuCl2. 2H(2)O-DEHA-2,4-T
DI system forms copper(I,II) complexes with nitron and 4,4'-dimethyl-3,3'-d
iisocyanatoazobenzene. Variously oxidized iron and copper ions are linked t
hrough chloride bridges.
