Cu-Te and Cr-Te phase diagrams were studied by DTA, X-ray powder diffractio
n, and microstructure observations. The existence of compounds Cu2Te, Cu4Te
3, CuTe, and CrTe2 was confirmed. Polymorphism was encountered in the last
three compounds. A homogeneous range for CrTe2 was found. Unit cell paramet
ers for the low-temperature polymorph of CrTe2 were determined. Compounds C
u3Te2 and CrTe3 were not detected.
