Abstract
The systemic anti-ectoparasitic activity of ivermectin, cythioate and closa ntel was detected by a novel assay using fourth instar Cimex lectularius L. fed on orally-treated mice (medicated diets). The criteria for activity ag ainst the insect were death, paralysis and molt delay. The minimum effectiv e dietary levels of drug when fed for five days were 0.093 (molt delay), 0. 312 (paralysis) and 15.6 (molt delays ppm. for ivermectin, cythioate and cl osantel, respectively.
