I. Avgin et Dl. Huber, LOW-TEMPERATURE SPECIFIC-HEAT OF A RANDOM HEISENBERG CHAIN IN THE LARGE-S LIMIT, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 56(5), 1997, pp. 2320-2321
Results are presented for the low-temperature specific heat of a disor
dered Heisenberg chain with random +/-J interactions in the large-spin
limit. The specific heat varies at T-2/3 with a coefficient that depe
nds on the relative fractions of positive and negative bonds. The coef
ficient is calculated exactly for the equal-probability distribution.
There is also a brief analysis of the destabilizing effects of an appl
ied magnetic field.
