Abstract
Addition-elimination of an alcohol to 1,2-bis(phenyisulfonyl)ethylene affor ded beta -alkoxyvinyl sulfones which were submitted to reductive eliminatio n with 6% sodium amal-am to produce the corresponding ethenyl ethers in hig h yields and purity.
