I. Becerik et F. Kadirgan, Glucose sensitivity of platinum-based alloys incorporated in polypyrrole films at neutral media, SYNTH METAL, 124(2-3), 2001, pp. 379-384
The conducting polymer films with metal particles incorporated into the fil
m by electrodeposition have excellent properties in regard to various elect
rode reactions in fuel cell applications. This communication presents some
new results concerning the electrooxidation of D-glucose at modified platin
um electrodes dispersed in polypyrrole film in neutral media. The addition
of lead, tin, bismuth, and ruthenium to platinum causes the modification of
electrocatalytic behavior of the electrode. The modification of the electr
ode surface is one means of minimizing poisoning effect, increasing the ele
ctrode activity. This reaction has great deal of interest in view of its ap
plications on detection systems (glucose sensor), fuel cells (pacemakers) a
nd electroorganic synthesis. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights rese
