Abstract
Perylenetetracarboxylic diimide derivative-containing monomeric and polymer ic red fluorophores were prepared for the chemiluminescence. The UV-VIS spe ctrophotometric, photoluminescent and chemiluminescent characteristics were investigated. Sodium salicylate-catalyzed reaction of them with bis(2-carb opentyloxy-3,5,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate with hydrogen peroxide provided a strong chemiluminescent red light emission at around 625 nm; these were sim ilar to the photoluminescent spectra. The chemiluminescent intensity was de cayed exponentially, but the glow of chemiluminescence maintained more than 18 h and was visible with naked eye. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
