Abstract
We calculate the spectrum of a beam of atoms output from a single-mode atomic cavity. The output coupling uses an internal-state change to a n untrapped state. We present an analytical solution for the output en ergy spectrum from a broadband coupler of this type. An example of suc h an output coupler, which we discuss in detail, uses a Raman transiti on to produce a nontrapped state.
