Abstract
This paper reports two cases of benign hepatic cysts successfuly treated by the instillation of tetracycline hydrochloride. The patients presented wit h solitary large symptomatic hepatic cysts and underwent ultrasound guided needle aspiration followed by the instillation of tetracycline hydrochlorid e. The cyst size diminished without complication and the patients have rema ined symptom free. We review their treatment of this uncommon entity and pr opose that injection of tetracycline hydrochloride is an effective nonopera tive treatment of symptomatic solitary hepatic, cysts.
