Abstract
It is shown how the discovery between 1900 and 1904 of X-compounds for med in the decay of uranium, thorium and actinium led to the recogniti on of the basic laws of radioactive trans formations, to the origin of radioactive emanations and active deposits and to the definitive proo f of transmutation.
