Abstract
Sotalol, a class III antiarrhythmic agent, generally causes a dose-dep endent prolongation of QT interval. We herein report a 22 year old you ng man with chronic atrial flutter and structurally normal heart, on o ral sotalol therapy. He developed giant T-wave inversion lasting more than one week on exposure to a single oral dose (140 mg) of sotalol, i nstituted after a drug-free interval of 8 weeks. This previously unrep orted complication of sotalol, possibly as result of idiosyncrasy, is described for its rarity.
