H. Ahmad et al., SORPTION STUDIES OF EUROPIUM ON LEAD DIOXIDE FROM AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS, Journal of trace and microprobe techniques, 15(3), 1997, pp. 263-271
Sorption of europium on lead dioxide from aqueous solutions has been s
tudied using batch equilibration to determine both equilibrium conditi
ons and sorption rates. The concentration, pH and temperature were var
ied. The influence of other anions, cations and other solutes on the i
sotherm was examined. The presence of EDTA, citrate, oxalate, tartrate
, thiocyanate, U(VI), Th(IV), Fe(III), Cr(III), Al(III), Pb(II) and ba
rium reduced europium sorption. The sorptions of Hg(II), Ag(I), Ta(V),
Fe(III), In(III) and Tc(VII) on lead dioxide were also studied. All t
hese have sufficiently low sorption isotherms that their separation fr
om europium should be practical.
