P. Mora et Lg. Loria, RADIOACTIVE ASSESSMENT OF FISH PRODUCTS MARKETED BY COSTA-RICA, Journal of trace and microprobe techniques, 15(3), 1997, pp. 307-310
Low level counting techniques with a hyper pure germanium detector wer
e used to analyse the Cs-137 and K-40 contents in tuna fish filets dur
ing the period 1992 to 1995 and in sardine samples during the period 1
994 to 1995. The average value of the specific activities for Cs-137 i
s 0.59 +/- 0.21 Bq.kg(-1) in tuna filets and 0.39 +/- 0.09 Bq.kg(-1) i
n sardine; this is rather low and comparable to concentrations found i
n other species elsewhere.
