Abstract
The method proposed earlier for calculating the onset conditions of cr evice corrosion is experimentally tested on flow-through model crevice s in the form of cylindrical channels of 04X13 steel in H2SO4 solution s. It is found that, when varying all the factors responsible for the electrochemical behavior of the system, the measured voltammetric char acteristics of a crevice adequately coincide with those calculated.
