The main regularities of the corrosion of nickel and carbon and stainl
ess steels in ten chlororganic solvents of the C-1-C-2 classes are con
sidered. With 1,2-dichloroethane, the effect of the following factors
on the corrosion intensity is followed: the nature of the metal, the m
oisture content of the solvent, and the presence of hydrochloride and
chlorine. Possible mechanisms of corrosion in such systems are analyze
d.
